Iner Carson Robinson

Of Bancroft entered into rest peacefully, on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Napanee in his 96th year.

Iner was born on February 4th, 1926 to Samuel and Mary Robinson. Raised during the depression in Monteagle, Iner learned the value of hard work. He often spoke lovingly of his early years on the farm, with his family. He left school early to help his family.

In his late 20’s Iner had a life changing experience that led to a spiritual awakening. He upgraded his education to change the course of his life. He attended Toronto Bible College, to fulfill what became his lifelong passion as a pastor and to share how his life was transformed by his relationship with Jesus Christ. His life demonstrated the Father Heart of God. He was gentle, kind, loving, forgiving, and only saw the best in each person, despite their life circumstances.

In 1956 Iner married Carmen, the love of his life for 64 years.  3 weeks later he sailed with his bride to Africa. Iner attended language school in Egypt to complete their dream as missionaries in Sudan and Nigeria.

Iner was a jack of all trades while overseas. He taught bible studies, maintained the compound under very primitive conditions. He served as a dorm parent at SIM Kent Academy in Nigeria.

In 1969 Iner returned to settle his family in the Bancroft area. Although he pursued certification as an electrician to support his family, Iner could not give up his first love as a Pastor. He served at Faith Tabernacle in Coboconk and Teen Challenge in London Ontario.

Iner will be missed by his children Rebecca, Roger (Shannon), Graham and Joel (MaryAnn).

Grandchildren: James, Sarah, Dakota, Brandon and Ashlee   Great Grandchildren: Talia, Kylie, Koen, Logan and Charlotte. Sisters Lucille, Marie and sister in-law Roslyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Carmen, siblings Elsie, Lloyd, Elmer, Gordon, Dawson, Claude, Doug and nephew Randy.

The family would like to thank Dr. D. Doren, Dr. A. Ferreira, the staff at Case Manor and Hastings Centennial Manor. They provided care to Iner and Carmen during their last years together. The family would also like to thank the palliative care community team who supported Iner during his final days at home. Notably Natasha Jackson, Valerie Cooper, Richard, Brin, Karen, Sherri, Jeff, Katelyn, Sandy and Rebecca.  Their professionalism, guidance and compassionate care allowed Iner to pass away, as he wished, peacefully, with dignity and surrounded by love.
