Obituary of Dorothy Lorena Stainton
Major Dorothy Stainton passed away peacefully at Moira Place Long Term Care on Monday, January 24, 2022, in her 85th year. Daughter of the late Lorne and Pearle Putnam. Beloved wife of the late Major Wallis Stainton. Loving mother of Brent (Lois) Stainton of Erin, Leslie Stainton of Guelph, and Brenda (Peter) Gabriel of Belleville. Cherished grandmother of Joshua, Jacob, Jaiden, Justine, Janaia, and Jaira. Dorothy is predeceased by her sister Grace McMeechan and her brother, Clive Putnam. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Heritage Wing of Moira Place for the kindness and compassionate care they provided for Dorothy.
Memorial Service will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church, 290 Bridge Street West, Belleville, on Thursday, May 26th, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior from 12:30 noon until service time.
If desired, Memorial Donations to the No Limits Charity Foundation, to be directed to the Wallis Grant for Athletes or to the Salvation Army Church would be appreciated by the family.
