Obituary of Kenneth Stanley Brightwell

Passed away suddenly on May 14th, 2022 in his 68th year. Beloved husband of 45 years to Kim Brightwell (nee Stuart). Cherished father of Angela Gray (Shane) and David Brightwell (Kaytee). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Liam, Kohen, Amelia, and Mikyla. Dear son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Brightwell. Dearly missed by his sister Kathleen Brightwell (Stephen), cousin Don Brightwell, mother-in-law Doris Stuart (late father-in-law Bob), brothers and sisters-in-law Vicky Deryaw (Pete), Tammy Baigent (Mark), Eddie Stuart (Peggy), Tom Stuart and many other extended family members and an endless list of friends.  Ken was a valued employee as an electrical inspector at Ontario Hydro/Electrical Safety Authority until his retirement in 2011. He was also a mentor and role model to many on the soccer field as a coach, teammate, and supporter. Ken enjoyed traveling and camping, riding his Harley, and was known for his love of reading, building projects and always providing a helping hand. He was a well-respected member of the community and his smile, relaxed spirit, and love of life will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held at Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273) on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, at 1:30, with visitation prior to service, from 11:00 a.m. ~ 1:00 p.m.
