Obituary of Marjorie Loretta "Joan" Knight

KNIGHT, Marjorie Loretta “Joan” ~ with sadness and heavy hearts, Joan’s children announce the death of their dear mother in her 95th year, on Thursday, April 25th, 2019, with family members at her bedside. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Edmond J. Knight, infant daughter Catherine Ann and her 10 siblings. Joan was born in Moncton, New Brunswick (the youngest of 11 children), to Margaret (nee Boyd) & Daniel J. MacGillivary.  At a young age Joan moved to St. Andrew’s, Nova Scotia and in time met her husband Edmond in Antigonish, N.S. She is survived by her 7 children; Sheila Browarski, Belleville, Greg Knight, Ottawa, Doug Knight, Calgary, Melanie Knight,  Belleville, Graeme Knight of Kingston, Kerry Knight of Toronto and Mardi Knight of Belleville. Loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren; Stephen Browarski, Belleville, Johanna Knight, Norway, Eric Knight, Calgary, Alicia and Jamie Rupert, Vancouver and Amber Knight, Arizona. Loving great grandmother of Emily Browarski, Belleville. Aunt Joan will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the exceptional Belmont staff and Dr. Andrew Forbes for their good care, kindness, patience and compassion to our Mom, as they eased her through her final days. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 169 North Park Street, Belleville, on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation at the church one hour prior to Mass. Reception to follow. Cremation has already taken place. Inurnment on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at the National Military Cemetery (Beechwood Cemetery), Ottawa, where Joan will be united with her beloved husband Edmond. If desired, donations to Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish ~ Building Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
