Obituary of Jantje Hielkje Wever
Of Belleville (more recently Ottawa), went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 16th, 2020. Daughter of the late Otte & Aafke Falkena. Beloved wife of the late Thoon “Tony” Wever. Loving mother of Evelyn Wever of Quebec City, Jacob “Jim” Wever (Julia) of Langdon, and Carolyn Thomas (Mark) of Ottawa. Dear grandmother “Beppe” of Timothee, Cassandra (Ali), Katrina (Andrew), Michael (deceased) and Lucy. Jean will be missed by her siblings Aly Blok (Wim), Hannie Komdeur (Gerhard) and Hieke From (late husband Piet), all of Holland. Dear sister-in-law of Freda Van der Bergs (late husband Wietse) of Holland, (late) Nick Wever (Minety) of Alberta, Ann Kempenaar (late husband John) of Belleville, (late) John Wever (Willi) of Belleville, Susan Ippel (Keith) of St. Catharines, (late) Dirk “Dick” Wever (Annamarie) of Alberta, Mary Rekker (Sam) of Belleville, Rennie Keuning (Ken) of Belleville, Bert Wever (Wilma) of Lynwood, Roelie Brink (late husband Carl) of Bowmanville and (late) Mike Wever.
Due to restrictions on attendance during the first wave of Covid, Jean’s service was initially delayed.
Visitation will now take place at Maranatha Church, 100 College Street West, Belleville, on Friday, August 20th, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jean’s life will also take place at Maranatha Church, on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.
Those wishing to attend the visitation and/or Memorial Service must register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Steele Funeral Home (613-968-2273) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Inurnment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Corbyville.
Family and friends not able to attend the Memorial Service in person are invited to join virtually as the service will be livestreamed through the Maranatha Church website https://maranatha-church.com The service will be available to view on the church website at a later time as well.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gleaners Food Bank (Quinte area) would be appreciated.
