Obituary of Gail Mae Elliott

ELLIOTT, Gail Mae (nee Harrigan), at Quinte Health Care, Belleville, on Sunday, July 5, 2020, in her 78th year.  Escaped to her Heavenly home and into the arms of her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, never to be bound in the chains of illness again, surrounded by her loving family.  Beloved wife of Fred,  and mother of Mark (Kathy), Rick, and Mary (Darcey) Hammerton. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Madison (Andrew) Powers; Karley Hammerton (Kurt Bryant); Jacob Elliott; Shaelyn Elliott (Logan Steeves); Julia Hammerton (Justin Tregunna); Camryn Elliott; and great grandson Lyndon Powers. Gail was predeceased by her parents, the late Gordon and Vera Harrigan, of Ottawa, and also by two infant siblings.

Gail was employed by the Hastings County Board of Education as a school secretary for many years. She had a heart for the children and was a “motherly figure” in the office. She loved to crochet and pass her creations along to newborn babies, shut in people in nursing homes, and any others that had a special need. Her grandchildren still cherish the blankets given to them years ago. She was a member of Hastings Park Bible Church since its beginning. Memorial Donations in memory of Gail to Hastings Park Bible Church or to BGH Foundation (Oncology Unit) will be humbly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home (Moira Street Chapel).
