Obituary of Arnold Bernard Groenewegen

Peacefully with his loved ones by his side at The Bridge Hospice on January 20, 2021, Arnold was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. Joyfully reunited with his beloved late wife Leslie-Anne. Devoted and loving father of Lisa Lund (Darren), Cher Norris (Todd) and Jonathan Groenewegen (Karen). Dearly loved by his grandchildren: Dylan, Victoria, Colin, Olivia, Noah and Leah. Sadly missed by his many brothers, sisters and extended family back home in Holland as well as his sisters- and brothers-in law and extended family here in Ontario. Arnold grew up in Holland and later moved to Canada. He married Leslie-Anne in 1978. As a long-time resident of Corbyville and Plainfield, Arnold was well known and respected by many neighbours and friends in the community. He was a long-time employee of Hawley's Garage as well as Trudeau Motors. He was a follower of Jesus and a long-time member of Maranatha Church in Belleville where he was loved by many friends in his church family. A private service will be held at STEELE FUNERAL HOME, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.  Family and friends are invited to join the service online at 1:00 p.m. by clicking the Live Stream link on this page.  A private burial will take place at Victoria Cemetery, Bronk Road, Plainfield, at a later date.
