Obituary of Vernon Melvin Aasen

Peacefully at home in Belleville on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in his 91^st year.  Beloved husband and best friend of Connie Aasen.  Loving father of Glen Aasen (Maureen McKenzie) of Trenton and Karen Aasen (late Fred Schouten) of Windsor.  Step father of the late Derrick Mitchell and Tara Mitchell.  Proud grandfather of Daniel (Janet) Aasen, Adam (Amy) Aasen, Sarah (Paul) Belej, Sam Aasen Roberts, Hope Mitchell and Tyson Mitchell.  Great grandfather of Emily, Claire, Katherine, Andrew, James, and  one expected to be born shortly.  Vernon is also survived by his brothers, Dale (Barbara) Aasen, Gary Aasen, Garth (Lori) Aasen and his sister, Darlene Cantin (the late Roger).  He is also remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.  He is predeceased by his parents, the late Christian and Verna (nee Pettigrew) Aasen, his brother Glen and granddaughter Gabriel.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel (613-968-2273).  If desired, Memorial Donations to the Quinte Humane Society or the Belleville General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
